Families, friends and anyone with a passion to play cricket can now enjoy the newly-laid artificial wicket in War Memorial Park.
We’ve replaced the park-based pitch so that it is now better for people of all ages who want to play cricket informally, using a softer ball. Members of Basingstoke Capital Cricket Club were among those who appealed to the council to replace the surface so that cricket lovers can enjoy playing on it. It is hoped the new pitch will be a big hit with visitors to the park and encourage more people to get out, have fun and play cricket this summer.
